Held in Melbourne from 26–28th November, Engage 2009 is Engineers Without Borders (EWB) 4th annual national conference. It represents the premier gathering of engineers working or interested in international aid work, sustainable development, design and technology. Student and professional delegates will converge on Melbourne over three days for presentations from internationally renowned speakers and to attend thought provoking and interactive displays and workshops. In addition Engage 2009 provides career and networking opportunities and an inspiring environment for the exchange of ideas and further learning.
The conference focuses on the unique role of the engineering sector in assisting disadvantaged communities’ gain and leverage access to appropriate technology and resources. This year it will focus on the past, present and future of development, sustainability and technology using practical, theoretical and technical approaches. It will emphasise the human face of engineering with a specific focus on EWB’s regional and technical programs. EWB Australia is the leading non-government organisation in the development and engineering community sector.
